Lisbon International Center for Water (LIS-Water): Winner of application for funding by the European Commission

The Portuguese National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC) has announced that its proposal for the creation of the Lisbon International Center for Water (LIS-Water), submitted under the Horizon 2020 programme has been selected by the European Commission for first stage financing.

This project aims at creating an international center of excellence for the water sector based in Portugal, which will be made up of public and private entities with interests in this sector. It is promoted by LNEC in partnership with multiple Portuguese and International organizations. So far, 40 organizations, including the Portuguese Water Partnership, have committed themselves to the success of this initiative. LIS-Water aims at attracting global, national and international experts, and will focus on the development and dissemination of public policy, regulation and management of water resources and water services.
