MOTA-ENGIL ensures new construction contracts in 3 countries worth 450 million euros

MOTA-ENGIL signing of two new contracts by a subsidiary company of MOTA-ENGIL LATIN AMERICA, BV and by MOTA-ENGIL ENGENHARIA E CONSTRUÇÃO ÁFRICA, respectively in Honduras and in Angola.

The contract in Honduras worth circa of 195 million euros, will last 36 months and will include the construction of a new hydroelectric facility denominated El Tornillito with an installed capacity of 194 MW.

On the other hand, the contract in Angola worth circa of 115 million euros, has an estimated period of 30 months and will include the execution of three main activities: the completion of the northern lifting system, the construction of the irrigated Calueque perimeter and the construction of a hybrid generation plant. The financing of this project is expected to be guaranteed by an export credit agency.

Furthermore, one of its subsidiaries in Mexico (MOTA-ENGIL MEXICO) was authorized to acquire Autopista Cuapiaxtla-Cuacnopalan Concession, with a total length of 63km, of which the existing 26km will only be refurbished. This concession involves a total investment of circa of 200 million euros, a 30 years term after the financial close, including a 24 months period of construction of circa of 140 million euros, and a guaranteed internal rate of return of 13.5% in real terms. MOTA-ENGIL MEXICO, in partnership with an investment fund (50/50), will hold 100% of the concession. This concession is the first infrastructure project in the State of Puebla and one of the first in the country in the last 12 months. This new investment reinforces MOTA-ENGIL MEXICO’s position in the infrastructure sector and demonstrates the confidence that the State of Puebla and of Mexico have in the company’s skills.

Therefore, the award of the above-referred contracts is another relevant example of the commercial performance of MOTA-ENGIL, either in Latin America, either in Africa, confirming the accomplishment of a pipeline of projects with a remarkable dimension.
