Global Water Summit 2020 will be held in Madrid

The Global Water Summit, organized by GWI – Global Water Intelligence in collaboration with Global Water Leaders and Leading Utilities of the World, is a specific event for the water sector that annually brings together high-level professionals from around the world, where various international business opportunities are disclosed and where are discussed topics related to: financing, projects, strategy, technology, innovation, among others.

The next edition of the Global Water Summit will take place between 29 and 31 March 2020, in Madrid, under the theme “Challenging Assumptions”, reflecting on questions such as: How much longer can banks lend money at negative interest rates? What will happen when we approach the peak of the global population? How would we do things differently if energy costs were always low? What if the circular economy and nature-based solutions become orthodox?

The 2020 agenda includes sessions on the following topics: Industrial Corporate Water Strategy, Desal, Digital, Finance, Technologies, Wastewater, Leading Utilities of the World. The complete agenda can be consulted HERE.

From the speakers, we highlight Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever, who will be the Keynote Speaker of the event’s Opening Plenary. The Financial Times described Paul Polman as a distinguished CEO of the past decade, whose role in helping to redefine the relationship between business and society was innovative. The Portuguese Partnership for Water is a partner of the Global Water Summit 2020 and will be institutionally represented at the event.
